Mrs. Dalia Sami

Elementary English Coordinator

I started my education career in 1994. I worked as a class teacher for lower elementary stages then as an English teacher for the upper elementary stages using national and American curricula. For the last ten years, I have been working in schools applying the British and American curricula. I held some managerial posts like stages academic coordinator and elementary head of department.

Joining Smart School allows me to apply all my working experience collaborating with a highly supportive, cooperative experienced, and professional group. We share the same vision and passion for education, aspiring to implement all our knowledge for our students’ well-being.

The elementary stages will be using Oxford International English Course Book. Students will be exposed to different literary genres, with British standards and teaching techniques. The four learning skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening, will be worked on through presentations, projects, and group work.

English is the most used communication language worldwide. That is why we will focus on the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional needs to apply their learning skills in meaningful contexts. That is why students have to use the language at all times at school, and we strongly advise parents to encourage them to use it at home.

Reading is a priority, not only at school or for homework, but LIFE. The English department applies Cambridge Reading Adventures as its main reading scheme. However, we would recommend and appreciate Parents’ help and support in following up on their children’s reading at home. Read anything and everything. Read about everything in LIFE…Read books, magazines, advertisements, games, food packages, movie reviews, and online articles. READ FOR FUN BECAUSE LEARNING IS FUN.

Reading being our primary focus will definitely and positively affect the remaining skills, writing, listening, and speaking, building a balanced knowledgeable, cultured, open-minded human being.
